{Food, food, food}

Ok, so I've been making some yummy foods and I want to start posting some pics and recipes. I do have a recipe site as well at food.austinandcallie.com

1. {S'mores Cookies!}
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
Cream together butter and sugar until well blended

Add: 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla and beat thoroughly

Add: 2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 cup chocolate chips, 1 cup mini marshmallows and stir until well blended

Place graham cracker squares on a cookie sheet and then scoop one spoonful of cookie dough onto each graham cracker.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes

Enjoy!

{Glasses}

One thing I really wanted to do was paint wine glasses! So, I made some and below are my pics. I have a friend {Jamie} who is a die hard Florida Gator fan so the UF one is for her. My parents have dear friends who are Tennessee fans so the UT one is for them :) Obviously the Auburn ones are ours and the one with the H was for my sister and brother-in-law. I can make any team if you are interested. UT has the words to Rocky Top written on it...Auburn ones have the fight song and Auburn cheers written on them and UF has the fight song (I looked it up online). Cheers!

{Projects}

Well, I'm currently working on a few things. I'm painting 2 canvases now that will say "It Is Well With My Soul" is my newest...I saw it on Pinterest :) I'm just changing the colors so as soon as I'm done I'll post pics. I'm also working on organization and decluttering. That's an ongoing process that seems to never end. My next place to tackle in the house is my shoes. I'm trying to get what I can out and help others with what I don't need. Someone once told me that we don't need to hold onto stuff we aren't using b/c they are someone else's blessings that we are holding in bondage. I try to clean out what I can so that I can bless others with it...whether it be people I know or our local Salvation Army. Anyways, I have about 3 boxes as of now and I'm about to have a bag of shoes very soon! :) Anyways, I better get to sorting...Until next time...

Yeah for the new year! It's 2012. I still remember 1999 and the scary thought of it becoming 2000 if the world didn't end first! Anyways, we safely made it into 2012 and I'm excited about the year ahead. We hope to move to a house with more space, Rylie Kate will turn 1 and Baleigh will turn 3! (Although she has been saying I'm not 2.5, I'm 2! And I don't want to be "free" I want to be 2!) So, we'll see if she might be 2 and holding. Anyways, being the beginning of January and people asking the same question of everyone...over and over...(what is your new year's resolution?)....I've decided on 2. Please know that my #1 criteria was attainability (if that's a word!). I chose 2 things that I want to make a part of my year ahead....#1 to really help others...meaning help when I can or find help when I can not. If I know a person is in need I want to help them find the help they need or help them myself if I'm able. (Sounds simple, but sometimes we can lose that focus if we don't start making it a habit). #2 is to organize and de-clutter my home! (Or home-to-be I hope). I want my house to be a place that I love coming home to and that I can share with others at a moments notice. So, there they are! My goals for 2012. I have other little things and goals for our family and my 2 girls....such as potty training and manners, but those are more of a given. Wish me luck and I'll keep working to attain these goals. Until next time...

{No Sew Tree Skirt}

Picture #1: 6 in. ruffle
Picture #2: First I did 3 rows of 6 in. ruffles
Picture #3: Then I did 3 in. rows to the center of it.
Picture #4: Here it is under our tree...I love it! :)

ok, I'm just not a sewer (if that's a word)...but I saw this on Pinterest and decided to take a go at it. I can't even begin to tell you how easy it was! Here are the instructions and a few pictures to help guide you.

Materials Needed:
1 Painters canvas drop cloth (4.5 x 4.5 if you can find it) from Home Depot, Lowes, etc. (I think mine cost 7.99)
4 yards of material you want to use (the original instructions said linen material, but I wanted to just use cotton material and with little ones I decided on a darker color)
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun & lots of glue sticks

Steps that I did:
1. Make sure canvas is a square and lay your square out
2. Fold the fabric into quarters and then a triangle
3. Cut both ends of the triangle...just a little on the top of it and a curve on the bottom (this is something I forgot to take pics of as I did it, but if you go to the first link I posted above you can see her pics to know how to do this)
4. The original instructions said to cut the material into 2-3 in. strips, but here is a tip I learned...that works if you use a light colored material, but with my dark material, those strips show the light colored drop cloth so I cut mine about 6 in. each and that worked much better at hiding the drop cloth. So, depending on what material use use decide how big to cut the strips.
5. Once you have cut all of the material you can start gluing. Just glue the strips around your drop cloth and bunch together as you go to create the ruffles.

PS- one thing I didn't do was the last step in the original instructions....When the ruffles are done, take the ribbon and hot glue it to the slit in the canvas so that once it's around the tree, you can tie the skirt shut. Make sure you leave enough room to tie it into pretty bows!
